We did little things like that to help players understand what they should be doing in the missions. We would do things to highlight the peon and if they select the peon, you can see the little repair button blinking. If your building is damaged, you should take a peon and you should repair. We looked for ways to help a player who may not understand RTS as well as people who remember this game, coming back.
